I loved seeing the sunrise from our window. The River view was rally pleasant and the general hotel room was stunning..
After a relatively long trip into Gisborne the hotel offered a very clean & spacious area to relax in. Very comfortable room/setting & helpful staff.
The room was great very high standanrd and perfert for our three days with great terrace overlooking river. Thereception people were outstanding in every aspect. The resturant was a bitter disappointment. The one staff member had no enthusium and spent a lot of time watching the televeision so much so that we gave up on dessert. The winde slelection if you could call it was was lacking. Most of the slection was one bottle that was already open. We wanted at bottle. The menu was lacking on various produect under the pretense that they were reveiwing the menu accordking to the so called waitress The steak was over cooked. Was surposed to be medium rare but was medium at best. An extremely dissapoining wend to a great three day stay at the hotel
See previous question the resturant was a bitterly dissapoiting experirence
The Comfort of the room was frantastic. It was clean and tidy. Would recommend it to any one.
The staff were helpful and friendly. I liked the hotel layout, with balconied suites around the central courtyard with its pool and palm trees. Great to be right in the centre of town. I enjoyed the photo-gallery of notable Gisborne people - I read many of their biographies as I was coming and going - good local flavor.
Loved the river view and the balcony, the room we had was luxurious as were the king size beds. Thanks to Larissa for making our stay so great.
The Staff were excetionally friendly and helpful a++++
We stayed 2 nights and on the 2nd night we got upgraded to another room and both rooms had a sewrage smell coming from the drains maybe they need to have there drains cleaned.. But otherwise it was a excellent couple of days.
What I appreciated about the Quality Hotel Emerald was the hospitality & service, privacy, access to the hotel and carpark and the comfortable rooms.
Would like to see room service hours extended during the winter season
The generous size of the rooms and beds. Bathroom was modern and well appointed. Staff in dinning room very attentive. One girl at reception was most helpful when I had to change a booking. The Manager was most welcoming and obliging to help in anyway.
Guests in next door room on balcony until 2am talking loud kept us awake. The ranch slider was almost impossible to slide open.
Fantastic Location originally attracted to us. A great room with a view of the river. The staff were so helpful to all our requests and it was the first time I had encountered free internet anywhere.
The room was excellent but the real surprise was the quality of the food at dinner. It was outstanding and coupled with the complimentary wine was worth the price of the entire stay on its own.
Buffet breakfast included in price. Very large room with 2 TVs which is great for a family. Undercover secure parking.
We were in a room at the main road junction so big logging trucks woke us in the morning. Had problem with keys being not cut properly. Would like an option of the bar fridge being empty so that we can use it for snacks without being accidentally charged
Very spacious and relaxing rooms, choice of bedding, cool decor, the view of the spa and pool courtyard, restaurant service, plasma to watch while in bed.
1.) Clients are not being told that if the Level 2 carpark space is full there is another level they can go to park on but they have to walk back down to l2 to the doorway entrance. Because myself and 2 other cars were blocked in by another vehicle. My day began at 6.45am and I was late in picking up a friend to prepare for our graduation ceremony. We had to wait 2 hours. 2.) A long walk to our room from the carpark doorway entrance. 3.) Booking online system was the most disappointing. I was not aware that the online booking website for my booking into Quality Hotel Emerald in Gisborne by my Mastercard did not process and I had to pay for my booking when I checked out. I received the email of my booking being accepted. Which to me means the payment transaction went through and we have a room booked. NoT Happy about this payment system online at all. Its the first time I have struck this.
The Quality Emerald would suit anyone for any type of holiday/weekend away. My 10 year old daughter and I went there for a three night girls weekend/sleepover, just perfect. Thank you (plus I just want to say we are not wealthy so it well worth saving up for as a treat...thanx heaps)
There was nothing I/we did not like. It was juat great...all of it, right down to the glass elevator...thanx heaps
The location , very close to every-thing
Cleaniness of room,------ I would only rate it a four star because of it, also there were no bath robes until a day before we left ,
